A CLOSER LOOK

How to recognize it

Small oval seeds with grey-brown or greenish mottled outer hulls. Hulled kernels look paler and softer.

In the kitchen

For Chifeng seed curd, soaked seeds are ground with water, strained to remove hulls, then gently cooked until soft curds form.

Whole and hulled seeds differ in preparation. Use food-grade products; these seeds are not sesame, flaxseed, cannabis leaves, flowers or concentrated extracts.
