溧阳乌米饭

Lìyáng wūmǐfàn

A Liyang seasonal sticky-rice dish made by soaking glutinous rice in dark juice pressed from nan-zhu / black-rice-tree leaves (乌饭树叶), then steaming until glossy black with a mild herbal aroma. Eaten especially around the eighth day of the fourth lunar month; now also sold as packaged local specialty.
