Liángnòng dàgāo

A steamed rice pastry from Liangnong in Yuyao: soaked japonica and glutinous rice are milled and layered around a sweet bean filling, stamped with red auspicious characters, cut into squares and steamed. The rice ratio varies with grain stickiness and season; one preparation uses about seven parts japonica to three parts glutinous rice. It is used as a festival and betrothal gift, and the craft was listed as Ningbo municipal intangible heritage in 2012.
