A CLOSER LOOK

How to recognize it

Usually pale and round or square, with a fine matte surface. These wheat sheets are distinct from dried translucent rice paper and from smaller wonton wrappers.

In the kitchen

Wrapped around savory or sweet fillings, then fried, baked or pan-fried depending on the dish.

Formulas may include added starch, oil or other ingredients. Contains wheat; check the actual product for egg and other allergens. The wrapper alone does not determine whether the finished roll is vegetarian.
