Before buying a ticket
Open the official observatory website and compare the date, entry window, included areas and change or cancellation terms. Check the current visitor entrance notice rather than following an old floor number from a blog. Save the booking confirmation and the instructions for the ticket you actually bought.
Arrive without rushing
Use Taipei 101/World Trade Center MRT station as your arrival reference and follow the building's current directions. Allow time to find the correct entrance and complete entry procedures. Choose a meal before or after your visit rather than making a tight reservation that depends on a fixed queue length.
Check the view, then choose
Look at the forecast and visibility close to your visit. If a skyline view is your main reason to go, reconsider the time slot when visibility is poor, subject to your ticket's conditions. If you prefer to stay outside, make the surrounding Xinyi pedestrian area the focus instead.
Continue to food
Have a seated meal in Xinyi if you want a short, simple outing. For a longer evening, travel to Songshan and follow the Raohe route. These are alternative plans, not a requirement to fit both into one visit. Check the onward journey before leaving the building.
Before you order
- Check fillings, broth and sauces as well as the main ingredient.
- Ask about the serving size before ordering several dishes.
